Blepharoplasty is the operation of rejuvenating the eye and its contour that can be needed from the twenties on. Pouches may emerge, or the skin may become sagged, mostly in connection with aging, and sometimes in younger ages for hereditary reasons, owing to the eyes getting too tired. This can be corrected through blepharoplasty. This is an aesthetic surgery operation applied on the eyebrows.
The blepharoplasty operation usually takes one hour. If the lower and upper eyelids is to be operated together, first the upper eyelid, then the lower eyelid is operated. After blepharoplasty operation, when the effect of anesthesia wears off, the patient may feel as if her eyelid is stained. This is normal. It can be kept under control with painkillers recommended by the physician.
The stitches are removed three to seven days after the operation, and the swelling and bruises start to disappear in this process. You may return to your life within one week. The effect of the blepharoplasty around the eye lasts 5 to 10 years, after which it will decrease gradually due to aging of skin and other tissues.
