Large Breasts in Men (Gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia is the condition when the men’s breast is excessively large.  Approximately 50% of men are observed to have large breasts. Although the reason for this condition is not known, this problem is observed in systemic disease and some medicine. 

In gynecomastia operation, excess fat and breast tissue is removed and it may also be necessary to remove the excess skin.  The reason for large breasts seen in some men is excess fat tissue. In this case, only fat removal operation (liposuction) will be adequate but breast tissue is more prominent in men. In such cases when breast tissue is large then this must be removed surgically. Liposuction which lasts 45 minutes, can be completed around 2 hours if skin removal will also be done.
